Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering of Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic, Katsina started its full time academic activities in 1981/1982 academic session with Pre-National Diploma (Pre-ND) and National Diploma (ND) programs under College of Science and Technology. Later on, in 1993/1994 session the Department introduces one year certificate courses in Elementary Mechanical and Automotive Technology Certificate (E.M.E.A.T.C.) and Intermediate Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Technology Certificate (I.M.E.A.T.C.). The Department falls under the College of Engineering with the establishment of the College in 2006. In 2008, the Department started Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering (Production option) and later changed to Manufacturing option in 2018. The Department is planning to start part-time National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programs.
